09:30 Lift Off |
 |
This
service is a short (half an hour) fast paced, fun service that has
been geared to the young families that come to church. We have
games, songs, DVDs and quizzes all with a biblical theme. We finish,
exhausted, at 10:00 with bacon butties and drinks for all. Come
and join us on the 3rd Sunday of each month (except August
when we need refreshing ourselves!) Introduce your children to Jesus
in a friendly setting. |

Sunday Worship |
 |
Sunday
worship is at the heart of Caldy Valley's Christian witness, our
services being led by the minister or by visiting local
ministers and lay people. We aim to promote a range of involvement by
members of the congregation. We try to include a balance of traditional
hymns and contemporary worship songs.
Drama, PowerPoint and video are used from time to time to support the
more traditional sermon and prayers. We aim to make worship spiritual,
meaningful and relevant; challenging but not
overbearing.

Junior Church |
 |
Junior
Church for children aged 3-14 is provided each Sunday morning.
Children join the adults for the first part of the
service and then have their own session during which they will explore
a similar theme to the adults in ways appropriate to their own age
group. We follow a nationally recognised ecumenical resource for
all ages called Roots. Sometimes,
children over five remain throughout the worship alongside members
of Brownies for a Parade Service.

Holy Communion |
 |
We
celebrate Holy Communion twice each month, normally during the morning
worship on the second Sunday and during the evening on the first
Sunday. We feel that it is important that our Junior Church join
us for this part of the service. They either receive the bread and
wine or a blessing, whichever is appropriate. |

Baptism |
 |
In
keeping with our understanding of the Bible, we practice both infant
and adult baptisms (also known as believers' baptisms). Baptism
takes place during worship and you will need to speak to our minister
about
this
in advance. |

a chat. Get to know us a little better. |

Fairtrade
Stall |
 |
There
is a Fairtrade stall ever Sunday morning with a variety of goods
for sale after the service. The Fairtrade tea, biscuits and coffee
are popular purchases, together with chocolate for those who just
cannot resist the temptation. The Fairtrade organisation is committed
to providing its suppliers with a living wage.

Crèche |
 |
For
those with younger children we offer a crèche facility for
babies and toddlers on Sunday morning run by a rota of volunteers,
mostly parents. |
For
your peace of mind, all
Junior Church and Crèche leaders have approval through
the Criminal Records Bureau and are familiar with the importance
of safeguarding
children and young people. |
